At Leiden University, I served as the Creative Producer and lead consultant for the development of their inaugural Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on the Coursera platform. The project, titled “The Law of the European Union: An Introduction,” featured Professor Stefaan van den Boogaert and represented a significant digital milestone for the institution. My role was to architect the visual and structural framework of the course, ensuring that complex legal subject matter was translated into a high-quality, accessible digital learning experience for a global audience.

As a strategic consultant, I advised the project management team on the critical integration of media production with instructional design. This included developing a comprehensive schedule and defining the aesthetic look and feel of the video lectures to maintain professional engagement throughout the curriculum. I created and managed the entire workflow and planning of deliverables, ensuring that the technical production stayed aligned with the university’s academic timeline.

Capacity building was a major component of this role. I trained and coached the camera and editing teams to meet international broadcast standards for online education. Simultaneously, I worked closely with the educational team and faculty to prepare their content for the screen, coaching the key presenter on their delivery and directing the primary video lectures. This dual focus on technical execution and faculty preparation ensured that the final product was both visually polished and pedagogically effective.

Throughout the lifecycle of the project, I performed rigorous quality control to ensure that all assets met the standards required by Coursera and the university. By implementing professional production workflows and robust instructional design oversight, I helped Leiden University establish a successful blueprint for their future digital education initiatives. This experience reinforced my ability to manage large-scale institutional projects where technical media production must be seamlessly integrated with academic excellence.
